01About these terms
These Terms of Use govern the Readora app and website provided by ChengNa Yu. By using Readora, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, stop using it. You must have the legal capacity or parental/guardian authorization required in your location. Mandatory consumer rights are not excluded by these terms.
02License and permitted use
Subject to these terms and applicable App Store rules, you may use Readora for your own lawful purposes on compatible devices you own or control. The app is licensed, not sold. You may not unlawfully redistribute the app, bypass purchase restrictions, interfere with its operation or misuse connected services. Exceptions and rights expressly granted by applicable law, including those relating to interoperability, remain unaffected. The Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to your App Store license where applicable.
03Your books and content
You retain your rights to the books, notes and other content you provide. You are responsible for having permission to import, read, transfer and share it. Readora does not supply a book catalog, grant rights to third-party books or remove digital rights management. File import is subject to compatibility and size limits. Encrypted or multipart archives and scanned-PDF text recognition are not supported. Keep original files and independent backups. Sharing a quote or file is your choice and must respect copyright and other applicable rights.
04Free access and Readora Pro
The current free library supports up to 3 books. Readora Pro is currently offered as a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase, not an automatically renewing subscription. It unlocks an unlimited personal library and the Pro features displayed before purchase. Local prices, taxes and availability are shown by the App Store. “Lifetime” or “permanent” access describes a one-time license for the purchased offering; it is not a guarantee that a particular operating system, third-party service or the app itself will be supported indefinitely. It does not promise every possible future separate product. Any change remains subject to the rights attached to your purchase and applicable law.
05Payment, restoration and refunds
Apple processes purchases under its applicable terms. We use RevenueCat and Apple transaction verification to manage Pro access. Restore Purchases requires the Apple Account used for the purchase; network access may be needed. A cancelled, refunded, revoked or invalid transaction may remove the associated entitlement. Deleting the app does not reverse a completed purchase. Refund requests are handled through Apple, without limiting any mandatory consumer rights or remedies available to you.
06Optional services and availability
iCloud, WeRead, GitHub downloads and other external services have their own availability, terms and policies. You are responsible for credentials you provide and for using those services lawfully. WeRead integration imports supported information and highlights, not protected full book text. Kindle transfer is a local file-transfer feature, not Amazon account synchronization. Readora is not affiliated with or endorsed by WeRead, Tencent or Amazon. Connection methods, formats, voice availability and widget refresh timing may change or be limited by the provider or operating system.
07Privacy, local data and backups
Our Privacy Policy describes data processing. You control optional synchronization and permissions. Keep backups before deleting the app, changing devices or importing important files. Turning off synchronization does not automatically delete cloud copies, and uninstalling does not automatically erase third-party purchase records. Reading statistics are personal reference information; they are not a guarantee of exact time across all devices and conditions.
08Intellectual property
Readora’s name, original interface, site design and other developer-created materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Third-party marks, books, fonts and software remain the property of their respective owners. Open-source components are governed by their own licenses; notices are available in the app. Website previews may use illustrative sample content and do not imply that any book is included with the app.
09Changes and discontinuation
We may improve or change the app and website, correct errors or discontinue features when reasonably necessary. We will provide notice where required and respect applicable rights relating to paid access. You may stop using the service at any time. Access may be restricted for material misuse or as required by law. Changes to these terms will be posted with an updated date and, where required, additional notice or consent.
10Warranties, liability and disputes
We aim to provide a reliable reading tool but cannot promise uninterrupted operation, compatibility with every file or preservation of data without backups. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available without additional warranties, and we are not responsible for indirect losses arising from its use. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer remedies. Applicable mandatory law, including protections and competent courts in your place of residence where required, remains available. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve an issue.
11Apple-specific terms and contact
These terms are between you and the developer, not Apple. The developer is responsible for Readora and its support, subject to applicable law and the App Store license. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of applicable license terms and may enforce them. For purchase refunds, use Apple’s support channels; for Readora support, content concerns or questions about these terms, use the developer contact below.
